Use CadControl to control your computer’s mouse. Left click, right click, and tap-drag are all available. You can also pull up the keyboard for data entry.
Use multi-touch gestures to navigate your 3D CAD applications. Pinch to zoom, pan with two fingers, and use three fingers to orbit. Double tap the boxes with two fingers to snap to orthographic views.
Our ring menu is simple - touch one finger on the screen and it will appear - move towards an item and let go to select. Activating a command is as fast as using a keyboard hotkey. Our system brings over the last used command from the computer to the iPad, which you can drag into a custom ring and start using immediately! Each 3D application you switch to will have its own set of rings, which will be saved on your iPad, and can be modified and customized.
Our on-screen overlay is a dynamic image on your computer screen. It changes depending on which ring menu you are using on the iPad and is linked with the active 3D application. This keeps your eyes on the computer screen, and means you never have to look at the iPad while working.
All of our mobile apps make CAD interactive. Whether it’s the iPhone or the iPad, you can connect multiple devices to the computer to share control, and work together. This makes communication between designers easier, and can even allow a design director to work closer to a modeller as they iterate on ideas. During group conferences, you can take screenshots of other peoples models to make your own notes and sketches.
Sometimes, all you need is a way to quickly sketch out some ideas to iterate on your design. With CadControl, instead of printing a drawing and using trace paper, you can use your iPad to sketch over your models while you design. Tap the camera icon to show the model on the screen, and you can sketch over the model using our trace overlay. Your drawing will show up live on the computer screen as you sketch. You can also save the annotation to your iPad or email it to your team or a client.
